The Town House is a welcoming place for volunteers.  Our team is friendly and diverse, all ages & experiences. Upstairs there is work available on our historical research project Here in the Past. Downstairs our volunteers are woodgraining the main reception rooms and in the basement a team is restoring an ice larder. Our events team plan and organise events which raise money to pay for the restoration progress.  Currently our events team are organising a regular dining event, taking guests back in time with the food of the past served in our historic rooms.

There is a volunteers' room for volunteers to meet here every Thursday at 10am, we also hold regular social events and training days.  Recently our volunteers had a woodgraining course taught by an industry expert.

Have a look at the opportunities listed below, or simply call our curator Nick Tyson on 01273 206306 or email him at office@rth.org.uk. There are so many ways volunteers can help. We are always on the lookout for conscientious, committed people, whatever your talent or area of interest.
