Dear Charlotte,
Your letter of the 3d arrived on Sunday and afforded us much pleasure in the account you give us of Richards improvement in health - What does Rich. say to having given to me no reply to my letter, which appears to have been pleasing to him as he calls it complimentary.
We had contemplated to leaving this place at the end of four weeks, but on Sunday we had a letter from Mrs D Bevan, that she had been down to Belmont & found the state of the house so uncomfortable that it had been determined to make a trip to Brighton for a few weeks & she gave us a commission to take a House for the family, which we have done a few doors from us on the [barely legible entry, may read: Crescent] We expect them [barely legible entry, may read: down] on Friday, & I suppose that we shall be tempted to stay here a week longer, wch will be more agreeable to your mother than to me, who am anxious to get back to Fosbury, where we hope soon after our arrival to [barely legible entry, may read: receive] you & Richard.- We shall not stay in London more than a very few days to settle bills &c &c - . We hear that Charles is looking out for a country house a few miles from town for the summer, so we have no expectation of a visit from them at Fosbury. - We know nothing of Henrys intentions; he has talked of taking Mrs Henry to the South of France for the advantage of her health in a warm climate but nothing seemed to be Decided on when we left town,
